Pistones


Conjunto de Pistones

El tema de esta seccion es muy interesentante puesto que con este componente se puede modificar un motor tipo I,  con relativo bajo presupuesto obteniendo grandes beneficios.

Este componente es de los que más sufre desgaste en un motor por su gran actividad

 

Los pistones tienen 3 ranuras en las cuales se instalan un anillo especifico en cada una.

Los anillos superiores actúan para evitar que la fuerza de la explosión de la mezcla  escape a través de la holgura entre el piston y  las paredes del cilindro hacia dentro del motor, evitando perdida de  potencia.

Los  ultimos son los aniillos de aceite, los cuales actúan para evitar que el aceite del motor se pase a la camara de combustión contaminando la mezcla y emitiendo humo blanco por el escape.

Cuando un anillo sufre desgaste deja de efectuar en menor o mayor medida su función, para solucionar esto hay que cambiarlos por unos nuevos, si este es tu caso te recomendamos cambiar todo el conjunto de pistones por uno nuevo,  no es costoso y obtienes mejores beneficios.


Los pistones se sujetan a la biela por medio de un perno y éste a su vez se sujeta con unos seguros métalicos, en motores de alto rendimiento  es recomendable substituirlos por unos "Teflones" porque el seguro original se puede llegar a zafar causando daños irreparables a la camisa o cilindro del pistón.

De acuerdo a la medida del piston varia el  tamaño del perno por eso.existe un tipo de teflon específico para los diferentes pistones.
 
Recordemos que para obtener el dato de la cilindrada de un motor es:

Cilindrada= Pistón x Pistón x Carrera x 0.0031416  Ej.   85.5  x 85.5  x  69 x  0.0031416 = 1,584.64 cc 

Los motores Originales 1,600 cc, vienen configurados con pistones de 85.5 mm, básicamente  hay 3 tipos

1.- PIstones 85.5 normales o con cazuela

2.- Pistones 85.5 planos

3.- Pistones 85.5 de Injeccón Electronica
En general  son iguales pero con la  variación en la parte superior,  cuando se  instalan en su posición original con respecto al cilindro, reducen el espacio en la camara de combustión, aumentando ligeramente la relación de compresión , lo cual aumenta la potencia del motor.

Cuando aumentamos el diametro del  pistón original (85.5mm) instalando  uno más grande obtendremos más cilindrada y mucho más potencia, solo tenemos que modificar las cabezas y el block como veremos más adelante. 

En la imagen de la derecha se puede apreciar  la diferencia del diámetro.

Los pistones generalmente estan marcados con su diámetro en la parte superior.
Si tomamos en cuenta que el cigueñal es el original 69mm, con el aumento del pistón quedaria asi:
Pistón
Cilindrada		 85.5 mm.
1,585cc		 87 mm.
1,641cc		 88 mm.
1,679cc		 90 mm.
1,756cc		 90.5 mm.
1,775cc		 92 mm.
1,835cc		 94 mm.
1,915cc

Para instalar pistones de 88 mm en adelante hay que modificar el mono block asi como las cabezas abriendolas a la medida exterior correspondiente a la camisa de cada medida de pistón.  El pistón más grande que se le puede instalar a un block original son los de 94mm.

Esto se tiene que realizar con maquinaria especial para evitar fugas.
Block original para pistón 85.5 mm Block abierto para pistón 92mm

Cabeza original para pistón 85.5 mm Cabeza abierta para pistón 94mm ( y válvulas grandes)

El Deck del Pistón. 
Esta medida es necesaria para poder obtener el dato de la relación de compresión de un motor.

Básicamente consiste en la distancia del piston en la parte mas alta de su carrera en relación a la parte superior del cilindro.

La medida minima es de 1 mm  , Esta medida la tiene que calcular la parsona que va a preparar el motor y varia de acuerdo al rebajado de cabezas y lo que cubique la cabeza (ver sección de cabezas). Para poder aumentar  esta distancia se tienen que instalar aumentos  en la parte inferior del cilindro o rebajarla para disminuirla.

En la imagen de la izquierda se señala el lugar sonde se rebaja o se instalan los aumentos, hay que recordar que estas medidas varian en solo milesimas.

En la imagen de la derecha se presenta la manera de medir el deck, con el cilindro instalado en el block, con un micrómetro lineal.  

Si se instala un gasket ó anillo de bronce para mejorar el sello del cilindro con la cabeza, hay que  contemplar el grosor del mismo (y su capacidad de compactación al apretar la cabeza), para calcular correctamente el deck y por lo mismo la relación de compresión..

 

Cuando el deck es muy reducido y de acuerdo al levante del  árbol se tiene que modificar el pistón, haciendole unas ranuras llamadas "Fly Cuts" para que el pistón no golpee con las válvulas.

Al realizar este tipo de trabajo hay que cubicar las ranuras, para calcular la camara de combustión y que cubique en la medida deseada.

 

Cuando el cigueñal es de carrera más larga los pistones disminuyen en su alto en relación al perno, como se puede apreciar en la imagen de la derecha.
